We are making good progress in the Capistrano beach backyard swimming pool remodel.
We finished demoing the coping, tile , plaster and portions of the pool deck.
Next step is to start the forming process for our pour in place coping. We can I to a slight elevation problem on this job. Whenever you keep a existing deck and want to replace the coping all you have to do is pour the new coping flush with the existing deck. This customer wanted to install new 3/4” paver tiles in the existing deck, in order to achieve this we needed to raise the swimming pool approximately 1 1/2 inches .
Forming pour in place coping on a Freeform swimming pool has its challenges. It has taken us year to profect the process but we have it done now. The trick it to use 2 x 6 forms and make sawdust ever inch so the wood can follow the radios without having “flat spots”.
We used San Diego buff color with a smooth finish
Next step is waterproof and set tile!
